Saturday, June 27th
A class in animal tracks and habitats will meet in Carson and caravan to a location in the Gifford Pinchot where we will explore tracks and habitat along a remote forest road, and evaluate and experience a Pika colony. This all day class should be an opportunity for adding some new animals to your tracking awareness. There will be photographic opportunities as well, both of animals and good views of Mt. Adams.
Class will meet at 9:00am and return to the Carson area around early afternoon.
Students should be prepared for off trail walking in tall grass and weeds with shoes and long pants.
A small notebook and pen or pencil
Something to sit on on the ground.
Water, lunch and snacks
Sunscreen, hats and bug repellent if desired
An animal tracking field guide (you can check one out of the library, or if you want to buy one email me for recommendations)
A small daypack and a walking stick are good ideas.
(Kids under 19 must be accompanied by a parent, under 12 will be considered on a case by case basis.)
