Join us for a Magical Musical Offering with Celtinalia!
Sunday, October 14th, 2:00 pm-4:00 pm
This is the sixth year in a row that these two amazing musicians have blessed us with an October concert. The pairing of their music with TreeSong’s Fall beauty is sure to transport you!
Jennifer Pratt-Walter and Carl Thor bring together their unique styles of Celtic-inspired music for a memorable musical experience. Carl Thor paints evocative images in sound on the hammered dulcimer and Jennifer Pratt-Walter draws beautiful music from the strings of her Celtic harp. Separately and together, they will provide a varied and memorable program of music for an early autumn afternoon in the woods.
Price for this special musical event is $15 ~ Space is limited, pre-registration is highly recommended.
Please call Michelle (360-837-8733) if you have any questions, or need directions to TreeSong.
Jennifer has been playing the Celtic harp since 1984, though the magical call of the harp had been beckoning her since first grade, when she heard it on a TV show. She also coaxes music out of woodwinds, lap dulcimer and hand percussion. Jennifer performs with Valerie Blessley in the duo Celtic Muse, and they have played in many NW venues. Jennifer has three solo recordings, and three more with Valerie. Jennifer teaches the harp, so if you have been drawn to the sound, she can get you started! Jennifer also plays therapeutic harp music at the bedside of the elderly and the dying, and is available to play for your special occasion. Adept with hammered dulcimer, piano, and vocals, Carl Thor plays with contra dance bands Cascade Crossing, Hands4, Orcas Ruckus and the Portland Megaband, Celtic and folk group Talisman, other groupings for folk dancing, and as a soloist. His compositions span a wide range of styles and traditions, from ragtime to techno, and from Scandinavia to the West Coast. Carl’s music is included on recent compilation CDs from Artichoke Music and the Portland Folk Music Society, and published in The Portland Collection books as well as his own dance music tune book. He is an organizer for the “Contra in the Couve!” dance series in Vancouver, and has been teaching music for two decades. Find out more at: http://www.talismanmusic.com
